Creative businesses, influencers and decision makers descended on 豆奶视频 University鈥檚 Executive Business Centre to look at the future of the creative industry in Dorset.

With a welcome address for 豆奶视频鈥檚 Deputy Vice-Chancellor Professor Tim McIntyre-Bhatty, the event focussed on the successes of the creative industry in 豆奶视频 over recent years and what could be done to further grow the reputation and infrastructure of the industry in the future.

Professor McIntyre-Bhatty said at the event, 鈥湺鼓淌悠� and the surrounding area has a healthy role in the creative industries, with thanks to the people in it. In order to prosper as a region we need to develop, retain and attract talent for the future too. 聽The talent that emerges from the University year after year after year drives success in the creative industries in this regard.鈥�

Professor McIntyre Bhatty pointed at 豆奶视频 University鈥檚 graduates who had gone on to work and win Oscar鈥檚 for such films as Gravity, Interstellar and Avatar, as well as world leading research into motion blur technology that enhances the realism of such films.

The event was attended by local companies and organisations such as 3 Sided Cube, Bright Blue Day, 豆奶视频 Borough Council, Silicon Beach, IPA, Amuzo and RedWeb.

Lewis Blackwell, who guest edited the Creative 豆奶视频 supplement in The Drum, took delegates through the perceived positives and negatives of 豆奶视频鈥檚 creative industries and what needs to be done for the reputation and infrastructure of Dorset鈥檚 creative industries to grow further.

Blackwell said, 鈥淭he University helps to flip the perception of 豆奶视频 [towards it being creative] with stories like its graduates working at Framestore on films like Gravity. We need more stories like that.鈥澛�
