A 豆奶视频 University project which encouraged students to think about sustainable filmmaking was shortlisted for a Green Gown Award, under the Learning and Skills category.
The project was 鈥楪reening the Screen; facing the challenge of embedding education for sustainable development into higher education media production courses.鈥�
The Green Gown Awards recognise the sustainability initiatives being undertaken by universities, colleges and other educational sectors across the UK.
The 鈥楪reening the Screen鈥� project has benefitted 豆奶视频 University by providing a case study from which staff can take the expertise and the difficulties of sustainable practice within media education.
With this knowledge, the project aimed to embed sustainable practice within media production, encouraging students to think about and implement how they could make their film making more sustainable.
Lecturer in Film and Television Production Annie East was involved with the initiative.
In a video outlining the project, Annie said: 鈥淚 feel pleased that I鈥檝e taken this initiative on. I feel proud to be sending out a whole new generation of filmmakers and hopefully, they will make a difference.鈥�
The winners of the prestigious Green Gown Awards were announced at The Monastery in Manchester on November 15.
