60 football coaches from across China have been at ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ to complete a three-month training programme.
The programme is run in partnership with AFC ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ and Dorset Football Association and the coaches received specialist training in both practical skills and theoretical knowledge and heard from speakers including AFC ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ chairman Jeff Mostyn.
They also took part in sessions including media training, strength and conditioning training, and had the chance to take part in cultural activities and trips to Premier League stadiums and games.
The programme forms part of the China State Council’s plan to boost the development of football in the country, using the UK’s expertise and resources to help football coaches from universities and colleges across China learn about the UK’s approach to football management.
¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ is the only UK university to have been chosen to host the study programme for all three years it has been running.
The coaches received FA international coaching qualifications as part of the programme, and were presented with certificates upon completion of the programme by ¶¹ÄÌÊÓƵ Vice-Chancellor Professor John Vinney.
